Curriculum

First Step's Programmed Curriculum allow for choices in the recovery journey.  Every person can choose AA /NA, Beyond Sober, Smart Recovery, LifeRing or WFS Meetings.   With each path a person must have exposure to in person meetings for the first 30 days.  For Beyond Sober, Smart Recovery, LifeRing and WFS Meetings due to limited in person meetings, individuals for the first 30 days must also attend AA meetings in addition to Smart Recovery, Beyond Sober, LifeRing or WFS Meetings.  After 30 days, a person must supplement the AA meetings with an in person volunteer position.  Showing up in person, is an essential tool for recovery.

The Right Fit

Different models work for different people—and that doesn’t make one approach right and another wrong. It simply reflects that people respond, heal, and grow in different ways. The core commonality across all successful paths is consistent routine and ongoing exposure to change.
